SkinViva Training are pleased to announce we are now able to offer training in non-surgical cosmetic treatment for qualified paramedics in addition to Doctors, Dentists, Midwives and Nurses.
SkinViva Training only offer cosmetic treatment training to suitably qualified medical professionals.
Until now, paramedics have been excluded due to insurance reasons. However, the SkinViva Training Academy team believe that paramedics most definitely have the medical knowledge and background required and have therefore worked closely with a specialist insurer who is happy to insure paramedics along with nurses, dentists, midwives and doctors.
Company founder and Clinical Director Dr Tim Pearce MB ChB BSc (Hons) MRCGP explains:
“As autonomous practitioners out in the field, paramedics are able to make decisions around administering medicines. At the scene of an emergency, they are required to make judgements on a routine basis regarding the drugs that a patient needs. In addition, paramedics are used to carrying out invasive procedures including cannulation, intubation, and using IO guns (intraosseous) for forcing a needle into the bone in relevant A&E procedures .
“Upon talking to a selection of paramedics out there, we feel a level of frustration from them that often they’re not able to train in aesthetic medicine despite being qualified, medical professionals registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Many of them find it hard work finding both a training provider willing to train them but also an insurer willing to offer them a policy.”
SkinViva Training Academy is working closely with Health Education England as part of its ongoing review into the non-surgical cosmetic interventions market and is looking forward to the next phase of its recommendations on training and certification.
