USA Growth in Male Cosmetic Procedures

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) has issued its annual data showing that Americans spent over $12 billion on surgical and non-surgical procedures in 2014.

The top surgical procedures for both men and women combined in 2014 were:

  • Liposuction (342,494 procedures)
  • Breast Augmentation (286,694 procedures)
  • Eyelid Surgery (165,714 procedures)

The top non-surgical procedures for both men and women combined in 2014 were:

  • BOTOX®, also known as Botulinum Toxin (3,588,218 procedures)
  • Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers(1,696,621 procedures)
  • Hair Removal (828,480 procedures)

Procedures for Men Up 43%

Over Five Year Period

Noticeably more men are turning to aesthetic cosmetic procedures, with a 43% increase overall in the last 5 years, encompassing both surgical and nonsurgical options. The most popular non-surgical treatments for men remain

  • Botulinum Toxin (up 84%)
  • Hyaluronic Acid (up 94%)
