This list is also displayed on our FAQ page, where it will be updated as necessary.
Why Medical Background?
SkinViva Training courses are specifically designed for those with a medical background who already have some specific qualifications. This is for a number of reasons:
- risk of complications/side effects
- insurance criteria
- the requirement to deal with prescription drugs such as Botox
The aesthetic market is facing the need to better regulate practitioners with enforcement of minimum standards for training and/or qualification. There has been suggestion of allowing non-medical people at Level 7 (postgraduate) to be able to carry out procedures in the future for injectables and as such the criteria for eligibility may change, but at present, there are no firm plans and no time frame for this.
SkinViva Training was established in 2013, in order to teach best practice skills and techniques to other medical professionals wishing to develop high standards of cosmetic injection skills and knowledge. We only train registered medical professionals i.e. suitably qualified and registered medical professionals and regularly turn away those whose background does not fit the criteria.
SkinViva Training Academy, we work closely with leading industry bodies and promote high standards throughout for the benefit of patients of those we train.
We will therefore endeavour to keep this website updated with the latest news as it happens.
