Guest Blog: Hamilton Fraser Support the JCCP

Naomi Di-Scala, Aesthetic Insurance and Claims Manager

Naomi Di-Scala hamilton fraserIn our latest guest blog, we asked Naomi to give her perspective on the JCCP.

Naomi Di-Scala is Aesthetic Insurance and Claims Manager for Hamilton Fraser Cosmetic Insurance.

Coming from a claims background, she specialises in educating practitioners on best practices surrounding claims, consenting and hot industry topics.

The JCCP

“The JCCP is a professional body set up with the purpose of providing public protection for non-surgical cosmetic procedures. The purpose of which is to raise standards within the industry and to provide clear guidance on who can perform an aesthetic treatment.

“For practitioners to be able to register with the JCCP they must meet the standards set out by the CSA for clinical aesthetic practice, education proficiency that is verified against the Health Education England framework, have adequate insurance and be able to demonstrate a ‘good character’ and declare their premises as safe.

“Initially the JCCP was set up between the BACN and BCAM and has now received support from other professional bodies that include British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) and the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS).

“Hamilton Fraser have also supported the introduction of the body throughout 2016 with a number of roundtable meetings that have brought together indemnifiers, professional bodies and product manufacturers.

“The purpose of these meetings was to gain a common consensus on how the industry as a whole can push through changes to improve standards outside of any forced regulation.

“As the leading aesthetic insurer in the market we have consistently been at the forefront of changes that happen in the industry and by staying true to our core value of education and raising standards we can see that the introduction of the CSA framework and registration of the JCCP will continue this.”
