The JCCP Practitioner Register and Register of Approved Training Providers went live on 1st March 2018.
Practitioners and Training Providers can now apply to join their respective registers.
The process for both commences with an online application, which requires registrants to complete a detailed electronic application, provide evidence and sign a ‘Self Declaration’ statement.
Cost of JCCP Registration
Practitioners Register
The price for practitioners has been set at £450, comprising:
- Non-refundable administration fee on application – £72
- Balance of annual registration fee after checks completed – £378
- Total annual fee – £450
Applicants must read the following documents before applying, as these detail
Registration recognises 4 levels of qualification:
- Level 7 (post-graduate)
- Level 6 (degree)
- Level 5 (foundation degree)
- Level 4 (foundation degree year 1)
There is a matrix of different procedures or ‘pathways’:
- Hair Restoration Surgery
- Botulinum Toxins (aka BOTOX®)
- Dermal Fillers
- Laser/IPL/LED Treatments
- Chemical Peels and Skin Rejuvenation
The matrix specifies the level of qualification and oversight/supervision required for each ‘modality’ – or type of treatment being carried out. The minimum qualification level required for cosmetic injections (BOTOX or dermal fillers) is Level 6 under supervision for upper face BOTOX and temporary/reversible fillers for lines and folds. Level 7 is required for unsupervised administration of BOTOX/fillers, but still subject to oversight of an independent prescriber.
Applicants are required to have undertaken JCCP authorised education or training to the level set out in the matrix to register fully with JCCP for each specific modality. There is the option to register provisionally for a specific modality for applicants who can complete the application and have been undertaking procedures in that modality for a minimum of 2 years.

Is it worth it?
Early feedback on the SkinViva Trainee Network is that this is seen as quite high, especially as registration is not essential or compulsory. The fee has caused some surprise and concern among current practitioners.
However, on the positive side, it is hoped that the JCCP will increase patient safety in the industry by ensuring all registrants are validated against one universal set of clinical and educational competencies. In addition, the CPSA will be responsible for acting as a conduit for data collection on adverse reactions and complications which may one day lead to much-awaiting regulation of the sector.
Time will tell how many people sign up for the JCCP register, as the website link to ‘Check the Register’ is not yet active.
Clinic Register
Fees for clinics are not yet released. The JCCP website currently says: COMING SOON. Admin Fee: £0. Registration Fee: £0. The application is not yet open for clinics.
Education and Training Providers Register
Fees for Education and Training providers are not fully confirmed:
- Non-refundable administration fee on application – £250
- Balance of annual registration fee after checks completed – £TBC
- Total annual fee – £TBC
JCCP Charity
While delegates have expressed surprise at the costs, it should be noted that the JCCP is a ‘not for profit’ organisation. Professor David Sines, chair of the JCCP, told guests at the House of Lords launch of the register on 22nd February:
“We now have charitable status – we are not a for-profit organisation; not a penny is for profit, it is a charity, recognised with the charity commission, and is UK-wide now; not just for England, which is a significant step forward for us.”
