Harley Academy and SkinViva Training have announced a new partnership to work together in offering the OfQual-accredited ‘Level 7 Certificate in Injectables for Aesthetic Medicine’ qualification.
The Level 7 for injectables is a fast-growing qualification in the UK that provides a vocational alternative to the traditional university-model and is specifically aimed at medical professionals growing their own businesses. The qualification is fully compliant with the requirements of the HEE review (2016) and is accredited by Industry Qualifications (a regulated awarding organisation of OfQual).
All students prove their competence on the Level 7 programme by carrying out injectable treatments of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers by building a portfolio of 40 supervised patient cases and undertaking coursework assignments and OSCEs, which are marked by externally-approved assessors and examiners.
Lee Cottrill, Business Development Director for SkinViva Training Academy, explained:
“July saw the start of an exciting agreement to jointly offer the accredited Level 7 qualification to the market in response to an increasing demand from medical professionals who wish to obtain an intensive and externally accredited qualification in injectable treatments.
“Harley Academy, based out of London, are natural partners for Manchester-based SkinViva Training Academy, as both our organisations share a common set of corporate values and beliefs on the need for regulation and tighter standards. We’re hopeful that this will be a fruitful relationship to help both our organisations to continue to shape the industry for better standards that allow medical professional to prove their competence in the interests of patient safety.”
The partnership will see both SkinViva Training and Harley Academy continue to serve their own students for training courses and mentoring provision. However, assessment services will be centralised out of a growing and highly-skilled team established by Harley Academy.
Dr Tristan Mehta, CEO for Harley Academy, went on to comment:
“We’re excited to be working in partnership with SkinViva Training. Our two organisations represent the training interests of 150-200 medical professionals who train with us each month and, by working together, we hope that we can continue to raise the bar for better standards through having an influential and unified voice in the marketplace.
“Pooling our resources and skills allows us provide greater geographical coverage across the UK for students wishing to obtain a recognised, highly credible qualification that allows medical professionals to prove they meet a set of independently verified standards in injectable treatments.”
