Work Out Your Potential Profits for Aesthetic Medicine

One of the most commonly asked questions among those considering training to work in the Aesthetics industry is ‘how much can I earn’.

Once you are self employed – whether that is as a sole trader or a limited company, profit is the key measure. Profit is the amount you have left out of earnings and after costs. It is the absolute key to working out how much reward you’ll earn for all your efforts!

SkinViva Training have put together a simple ‘profitability calculator’ to help delegates work out their business model. This is based on a number of variables which you can input and test yourself:

1. Sales forecast, including but not limited to:
   • prices
   • number of patients (BOTOX, fillers, lip filler etc)
2. Costs, including but not limited to:
   • product costs, clinical supplies
   • room hire, rent
   • insurance, training, advertising, professional costs (e.g. accountant)
   • travel, phone, utilities

What Next?

Based on the figures, the profitability calculator will give a quick profit and loss summary. The beauty of this model is that you can then ‘play around’ with the numbers.

Many delegates start off in aesthetics as a part time interest and build up the amount of time they dedicate to it – you can use the tool to work out what difference an extra day or clinic would make.
