Choosing a course? This section of frequently asked questions provides lots of answers to help you choose the right course for you and go into it with full confidence that you’ve chosen well.

Our injectable treatment training courses are provided by a team of highly skilled and experienced clinicians (Doctors and Dentists). All our trainers also work as Aesthetic Clinicians within our SkinViva clinic which is one of the North-West’s leading providers of non-surgical treatments.

SkinViva Training courses are all held in our modern and fully-equipped Training Clinic just outside Manchester city centre in Castlefield. Click here to see a map of our location and to read more information on how to get to us.

The SkinViva Training Clinic provides ample space to encompass a dedicated training seminar room for classroom-based learning along with a minor surgery room and two additional dedicated treatment rooms. Trainees are welcomed in a reception / waiting area and as you would expect catering facilities are fully provided.

SkinViva Training Academy is proud to offer full wheelchair access to and throughout its premises.

SkinViva Training Academy offers courses exclusively for qualified medical professionals with active registration of an approved body. Please see our separate page Entry Requirements – Who Can Train? for more information.


There is no requirement for any prior experience for our Foundation course. Intermediate and advanced courses do require a certain level of practice.

No, SkinViva Training will supply all products necessary for the procedures and learning we provide. Please feel free to bring along any questions relating to specific products and we will always endeavour to provide practical advice and guidance.

Please rest assured that SkinViva Training uses market-leading and widely recognised products for its training procedures.

No, or not unless you want to. SkinViva Training supplies models for all its training courses. If you have a particular desire to bring your own model/s, please contact us on 0161 850 2491 to discuss the requirements. Arrangements will need to be made at least 2 weeks before your course.

  1. Photo ID (compulsory)
  2. Your course materials to make notes (optional) – we’ll provide hard copies on the day
  3. Your certificates of professional qualification (only if we have requested)
  4. Your spectacles if needed
  5. Pen and paper to make notes.

Food is provided for all group courses (including any 121 courses with 4 or more models).

Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements.

After completing your SkinViva Training course you will need to purchase professional indemnity insurance in order to practice. We are a recognised training provider of Hiscox, Hamilton Fraser and Cosmetic Insure.

Please be aware that we will not be able to delay the beginning of the course if you arrive late.

If you have any concerns about your journey, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to advise. Some delegates prefer to stay over in Manchester the night before training. We can recommend local accommodation if required.

Dress code is professional. Please dress appropriately as this is a real clinic environment (no jeans, trainers etc).

Do bear in mind you’ll want to be comfortable too, as you can expect to be on your feet a bit and will want to be suitably attired for carrying out treatments.

Your training materials will be emailed to you separately and should be downloaded within 7 days on a computer (not phone or tablet). Please read this documentation thoroughly in advance of attending our training school.

Remember, passing your course is not guaranteed. We assume a reasonable knowledge of facial anatomy & physiology and you will be asked questions to check your understanding.

Therefore it is essential you read and digest your training materials.

All delegates are required to complete our “Code of Conduct” form in advance of training, to ensure that all delegates have a productive and enjoyable experience at SkinViva Training.

Save time by printing this beforehand, signing and bringing with you to your practical training course.  Please return it to a member of the staff BEFORE starting the course.
